Qingdao University of Science and Technology
Foreign Languages College (FLC), formerly known as the Foreign Languages
Department set up in 1993, has 4 undergraduate programs in English, Russia,
Japanese and German languages and 1 graduate program in foreign linguistics and
applied linguistics. Its staff numbers 106, 45 holding Master's degrees, 15
having overseas academic experience, 3 being professors, and 22 being associate
professors.
FLC has 4 teaching departments---English Department, Department of
Occidental Languages, Department of Oriental Languages and Department of General
English, and auxiliary sections like the Language Training Center, the Library,
and the Audio-visual Center which owns 18 language labs and 2 FM broadcasting
stations.
FLC has established and maintained academic exchanges and friendly
relations with colleges and universities in countries such as South Korea and
Australia. In the past few years, the staff has published 300 or so articles and
over 40 books in various areas, and has undertaken 10 projects of provincial and
school levels. The FLC has always put stress on its teaching quality. In July
2004, the Band-4 English test passing ratio of the university as a whole reached
50.25% due to the hard work and intelligence of the FLC faculty.

外國(guó)語(yǔ)學(xué)院的前身是1993年3月成立的外語(yǔ)系，2002年6月經(jīng)學(xué)校批準(zhǔn)更名為外國(guó)語(yǔ)學(xué)院。
目前，全院設(shè)有英語(yǔ)、俄語(yǔ)、日語(yǔ)、德語(yǔ)4個(gè)本科專業(yè)，擁有我校第一個(gè)文科專業(yè)碩士點(diǎn)外國(guó)語(yǔ)言學(xué)與應(yīng)用語(yǔ)言學(xué)專業(yè)碩士點(diǎn)；現(xiàn)有英、日、德、法、韓等語(yǔ)種專業(yè)教師106名，本、�？圃谛W(xué)生1150人，研究生7人。教師中具有研究生學(xué)歷的45人（含博士學(xué)位1人），歸國(guó)留學(xué)人員15人，副教授22人，正教授3人。
學(xué)院下設(shè)英語(yǔ)系、西語(yǔ)系、東語(yǔ)系和大學(xué)英語(yǔ)教學(xué)部4個(gè)教學(xué)系（部），設(shè)有5個(gè)專業(yè)教研室、4個(gè)大學(xué)英語(yǔ)教研室以及外語(yǔ)培訓(xùn)中心、語(yǔ)音室、資料室等教研教輔單位；現(xiàn)有18個(gè)專業(yè)語(yǔ)音實(shí)驗(yàn)室、2個(gè)外語(yǔ)調(diào)頻無(wú)線電臺(tái)。
外語(yǔ)學(xué)院已與韓國(guó)、澳大利亞等國(guó)的大學(xué)建立了學(xué)術(shù)和友好關(guān)系。幾年來(lái)，外語(yǔ)學(xué)院的教師共發(fā)表論文300多篇，出版專著40余部，承擔(dān)省級(jí)和校級(jí)項(xiàng)目10項(xiàng)。外語(yǔ)學(xué)院歷來(lái)重視教學(xué)質(zhì)量，在他們的辛勤努力下，我校2004年6月的四級(jí)統(tǒng)考過(guò)關(guān)率達(dá)到50.25%，超過(guò)全國(guó)重點(diǎn)院校平均通過(guò)率5個(gè)百分點(diǎn)。
